T’was the night before Christmas and momma was still stirring. So to help keep momma motivated, she drank the tastiest RumChata White Hot Chocolate. With her tummy warmed and anxiety calmed, all the children were sleeping in their own beds, presents were wrapped, and hunks of meat smoking away on the Big Green Egg.

I’m wondering if I could put a little vanilla extract in instead of a bean? My mom made some homemade vanilla for me for Christmas, but I don’t have any beans.

Hi Kathryn, Absolutely you can substitute the vanilla. I would use two teaspoons.

You said to combine ALL ingredients in crock pot then later you say to add a shot of RumChata. Do you add extra in your cup?

Is there anyway this can be halved or frozen???? there are only 2 of us and it makes a lot. I would like to have this often, once a week, but on a smaller scale.

Cut the recipe in half. I am not sure how it will freeze. I have never tried freezing.

[…] So we’ve been in our new home for a week now and I’ve finally unpacked all the kitchen boxes. All 15 boxes. It was a huge triumph so to celebrate, I made sangria! Now I’m more of a white wine gal so I chose to make this with a combination of a crisp white wine and a sparkling white wine (like Prosecco). And with a combination of my favorite fruits, this sangria came together in just 5 minutes. And after that first sip, I was completely hooked.
